Mario DeSio

Mario DeSio spends more time listening to others than performing himself. He has been involved in the S.F. music scene since 1986 playing solo and in bands in every small to mid sized club in the Bay area. He changes music styles often to appease his restlessness. He supports and encourages writers vehemently and is a founding member of the old farts club singer songwriters at the bazaar café along with Box Set, David Sobel, Ira Marlowe, Kwame Copeland to name a few. His songs span from anarchy-country to humourous-ska to social commentary-jazz to calm love-folk. He currently plays solo and with the silly jug band "Mariospeedwagon" with David Sobel on percusion, Bill Pezzaglia on tuba, trombone and clarinet, and Tom Meshesnic on piano, guitar, mandolin, washtub bass ... you name it. He is the last one of his peers to release a CD (worse than Will Johnson or Jhene Conody) and can be quoted as saying "oh, I'm working on it ... " Someday ... someday ...
